The warm embrace of heat soaking in a dry sauna doesn’t just feel good and melt stress away, it also offers powerful, scientifically proven health benefits for your body and mind.
Sitting in a sauna can support your wellness and longevity goals by reducing your inflammation markers, increasing endorphin production to boost your mood, improving your stress resilience and cardiovascular health, and enhancing your cognitive function.
Frequent sauna-goers (those who use a sauna four to seven times a week) have been scientifically shown to have up to 50 percent lower risk of dying from heart disease and a 40 percent lower risk of all-cause mortality. Translation… Sauna sessions are one of the best investments for your lifespan and longevity that you can make.
“Science also shows that heat soaking is the only proven way to reduce your risk of developing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease,” added Bliss Baker, one of the co-founders of WellHouse.
It’s these health benefits that drew Bliss and his partner Meredith Pierce to create WellHouse Luxury Saunas, a company they proudly co-own with their son.
At WellHouse, you’ll find exquisitely designed saunas created for those who expect more. “There’s nothing comparable to our saunas in the world,” says Meredith. “When we first moved to our cottage, we knew we did not want a barrel sauna or a DIY kit. We wanted a sauna that was much more elegant; more of a focal point and sculpture by the lake; something you would be proud to highlight.”
However, she quickly realized that impeccably designed luxury saunas that are beautifully engineered and crafted simply did not exist. So, she channelled her 30 years of interior design experience into creating her own.
Every WellHouse is exquisitely crafted with the highest quality materials. The exteriors are clad in aluminum or shou sugi ban-style wood, and the interiors are finished with handcrafted, hand-sanded thermally modified wood.
Unlike most saunas, all WellHouses are equipped with a mechanical ventilation system that circulates the air five times per hour, bringing in the fresh oxygen necessary to leave you feeling invigorated and refreshed, not tired and groggy.
Their four models – the SugarCube, PepperCube, ShadowCube and IceCube – can be customized from a menu of luxe finishes for a look tailored to your preferences.
While WellHouse saunas are built here in Ontario, the brand has partnered with architects and designers as far away as New York, The Hamptons and Palm Beach.
WellHouse offers white glove delivery, bringing your personalized sauna to your property, whether it’s accessible by land, lake or air. Once your WellHouse is delivered and connected to your electrical panel, your only decision becomes bathing suit or no bathing suit!
