Cantilevered awnings, boat shelters, and dock ladders made for Muskoka, by Muskokans

When it comes to protecting the things you love, there’s no room for sacrifice.

“Quality matters,” says Tanya Neal, co-owner of Aquadome. “Whether you’re protecting your boat from tree sap, rain, or UV rays, or shading your family as they enjoy the deck or dock, it pays to invest in products that are made to withstand our weather conditions.”

Aquadome has been creating cantilevered awnings, dock slip covers, and shelters for cottages across Muskoka for over 30 years, using a lightweight aluminum frame and a tightly fitted marine-grade canopy. “The best overhead protection is custom-designed to suit the property because, in cottage country, our properties come in all shapes and sizes,” says Tanya.

The Muskoka-based awning dealer isn’t an importer – it’s a designer, manufacturing shelters that are hand-crafted to suit each of their clients’ properties.

When it comes to shelters, Tanya notes that you must consider the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship that goes into the product.

Each of Aquadome’s aluminum frames is welded at their Bracebridge shop using TIG welding – a process that creates clean, strong weld joints.

“TIG welding is the welding method used by aerospace engineers.”

While this gives Tanya’s team greater quality control, it also allows them to offer superior customization.

Awnings are available in a wide range of colours and finishes to complement your cottage, boathouse or patio furniture.

“We can match the awning to your siding, Muskoka chairs, umbrellas or other features,” says Tanya. “We use Top Gun heavy-duty fabric – it’s a marine-grade, nine-ounce, vinyl-coated, UV-resistant outdoor fabric that will withstand fading, fraying, acid rain, and mildew, season after season.”

The frames are available in a silvery aluminum tone, or they can be powder coated to suit your colour needs.

While it’s important to have a strong cover, it should also be smart. “Our retractable awnings come with several state-of-the-art features, including remote control technology and smart sensors that respond to UV rays, wind and more.”

This tech is great for hands-free controls, and it also offers greater peace of mind.

“If you’re away from your property or the weather changes unexpectedly, these systems have you covered.”
