NuScape Landscaping

Landscaping visions come to life with great planning and quality materials

Creating that dream landscape on any property always begins with an inspired idea.

Exploring the idea through expert planning and design will eventually bring it to life, says Dustyn Pilger, owner of NuScape Landscaping & Property Maintenance.

“One of the most exciting parts about the landscaping process is finding out our client’s wish list and goals, then working together to create the tailored look they want,” he explains.

This was the case with a recent project that Dustyn and his team completed. The clients had recently purchased a log home. Now they needed a stunning landscape to match. NuScape helps their clients from start to finish, while also being available to stay on for landscape maintenance once the project is done.

Sometimes NuScape works with a landscape architect to draft plans, however for this project, Dustyn worked directly with the property owners on the ideas and designs.

They spent a lot of time going over personal tastes and discussed every detail – from plants to size and colour of stone – to develop a custom design that would achieve the desired results.

“We ended up incorporating a lot of natural granite into the design,” says Dustyn. “The statement piece is a winding granite staircase and a 20-foot diameter patio with a fireplace centrepiece. We built right over the bedrock and incorporated it in the design.”

The design was completed using plants grown at their own garden centre, the NuScape Store in Washago. They used plenty of perennials and pollinator-friendly plants such as echinacea, liatris, and catmint.

“Laura, one of the owners, ended up liking the echinacea the best of the plants we chose,” he says. “We always aim to incorporate an abundance of pollinator-friendly plants as they serve a double purpose of being ecologically friendly and looking fantastic.”

In the end, Dustyn’s clients were extremely happy with the results, particularly NuScape’s meticulous and fresh approach.

“From the start, he impressed us with his professionalism, friendly personality, and respectful demeanor,” says Laura, who worked with Dustyn on the vision for the property. “He brought with him a team of equally impressive young men – each one well trained, professional, and committed to the highest standards of workmanship. Their attention to detail was remarkable, and it was clear they all took great pride in their work. The results speak for themselves – our outdoor space has been completely transformed, and we couldn’t be happier.”
