Water Depot

Water softeners protect skin, hair, and property

You raise the glass to your lips, ready for a refreshing drink. And then you see the spots and smudges all over the glass, and sigh.

It’s a common problem and it’s not just glassware. If your glass showers, fixtures, and dishes appear smudged and dirty all the time, then the faucets are certainly pouring out hard water.

Hard water affects the efficiency of appliances, and it also has an impact on our skin and hair.

“When hard water evaporates, it leaves behind dissolved calcium and other minerals,” explains Eric Dube of Water Depot. “That’s what causes those ugly spots. The damage you don’t see immediately is what it does to your hair and skin.”

Hard water dries our hair and leaves it prone to breakage; not addressing this issue could result in hair loss over time. The high mineral content in hard water can also strip away the natural oils from our skin, causing extremely dry skin.

A permanent solution to this issue is to have a water softening system professionally installed, says Eric, who has been a water treatment specialist for 30 years. He and Nicole Blanchet own Water Depot franchises in Bracebridge, Barrie, and Wasaga Beach.

“There are several options to soften water, depending on the needs of the property owners,” he explains. “Addressing the hard water could be only one part of the required filtration and treatment.”

Custom solutions
Eric, Nicole and team are water treatment and filtration experts who find solutions for central Ontario homes and cottages.

Not all water is created equal, and it’s not all safe to drink. Many lakes and dug wells have a combination of microorganisms and pathogens. Other properties have yellow water, caused by an abundance of tannins and sediments. Or they might have iron, which smells bad and can clog pipes and fixtures.

All of these problems can be solved.

“People are still learning that yes, you can have clean, potable, great tasting water directly through your taps,” explains Eric. “You don’t have to live with yellow water at your home or cottage.”

The right water treatment and filtration system can address any combination of problems.

“Not every property has the same needs,” explains Eric. “Some water sources have more tannins and sediments; others are heavy with iron. We offer free water testing and consultations to determine what you need and plan the best solution for your property.”

What’s left is clean, safe, and great tasting water for you and your family.
