It was the moment I knew the culinary skills of Anthony Torroni were legitimate.
The second the eggplant parmigiana literally melted in my mouth, I fell in love with his dish. Don’t tell my Nonna, but it’s the best I’ve ever tasted.
Since we’re both of Italian descent, the meal continued with two chicken dishes – parmigiana and marsala – a healthy serving of spaghetti and meatballs, and Anthony’s specialty, penne a la vodka.
It’s hard to get me to like any Italian cooking that didn’t come from my house or one of my family members, but Anthony made a great meal that had all the right flavours and textures. My palate was very pleased during and after our late lunch.
And that was only a small sample of what Anthony can do.
The man creating the dishes for Torroni’s Catering in Muskoka is as passionate about food as they come. The way he talks about it, the way he feels about making sure every bite is perfect.
“I have always loved to cook, ever since I was little,” he says. “I first started learning how to cook, and then doing it myself, with my mom and grandmother and I always wanted it to be my career.”

Having done well as a caterer in Woodbridge and Bolton, Anthony made the move to Muskoka to enjoy the region’s beauty while providing amazing food for almost any event you can think of.
“We’ll create a menu for your weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and other large gatherings,” he says. “Though Italian food is in my blood, I will also work with special requests and fulfill them whenever possible.”
Island cateringTorroni’s Catering is happy to bring their delicious meals right to your island property. With permanent access to a boat, they make it easy to host an event without the stress of getting the food from the mainland.
“I know so many people live on islands in the area,” he says. “I also know how tough it can be to get what they need brought to their docks. It’s a service I feel it’s important to provide.”
No matter where you are in Muskoka, Anthony will bring his passionate catering services to you. Judging by our visit with him, you’ll be happy to see him arrive.
