The Water Depot

Specialists provide clean, potable, great-tasting water for their clients

Would you scoop lake water into your glass and take a big drink? Probably not: hardly anyone would choose to drink lake water – or even water from a dug well – without it going through a filtration process.

But if the water comes out of a tap, we all tend to assume that it’s safe to drink. And that may not be the case, explains Eric Dube of Water Depot. He and Nicole Dube own Water Depot franchises in Bracebridge, Barrie, and Wasaga Beach.

“If the water from a lake or dug well isn’t treated properly with the right filtration system in the right order, it shouldn’t be considered safe to drink,” explains Eric. “We are often called to properties that have UV filters set up, but that’s not addressing all the issues.”

Every property requires a customized filtration and treatment system to address all the potentially harmful tannins, sediments, iron, microorganisms, and pathogens that could be in the water source.

Each of these requires its own filter or treatment. And the steps need to be in the right order. For instance, if a filter hasn’t removed any tannins and sediments, they could build up and negatively impact the efficacy of the UV light on microorganisms.

“Not every lake or water source has every item on the danger list,” says Eric. “However, most have more than one. That’s why we do a thorough test of the water coming into your home or cottage before planning and installing the best filtration and water treatment solution for your needs.”

With over 30 years in the water treatment world, Eric knows his stuff. His fully trained Water Depot staff are also authorities in the field.

“There are times when someone will choose a plumber for their water treatment needs, but they don’t specialize in that field,” says Eric. “Would you buy a stereo from an electrician? Probably not. It’s the same thing with water treatment; you want to use the experts.”

The Water Depot team will work directly with homeowners, and property managers, and yes, with plumbers, to ensure the cleanest, safest water is available at every location they service.
