When WellHouse founders Bliss Baker and Meredith Pierce set out to find a thoughtfully designed and beautiful sauna for their lakeside cottage, they expected the search to be simple. It wasn’t.
“All we could find were barrels or flimsy kits,” Bliss says, laughing. “We weren’t prepared to settle, so we decided to start a manufacturing company to build beautiful, soulful saunas ourselves.”
Building on her 30 years of interior design experience, Meredith set out to create a new category of luxury saunas that their accomplished, well-travelled and design-conscious clients appreciate.
“WellHouse saunas are designed to be a focal point in your yard or landscape; a piece of functional art,” said Meredith, the company’s CEO.
But, beautiful designs are only part of the story. Recovery and aging gracefully are an equally important part of the WellHouse experience.
WellHouse saunas are precision-engineered to provide a superior sauna experience, which counteracts heart disease and depression, decreases inflammation, improves numerous biomarkers, enhances cardiovascular health, reduces the risk of all-cause mortality by up to 60 percent, and is a proven methodology to reduce the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s.

“We’ve done all the heavy lifting; all you have to do is sit,” says Bliss.
“We believe it is time to reframe getting older for getting better. We reject the idea that aging is happening to us. Here’s a powerful and scientifically proven way to hedge against age-related degeneration,” said Meredith.
Since launching WellHouse, they have been getting a lot of attention from designers in New York, The Hamptons and from professional athletes who prioritise their recovery routines and want to do it in style.
All of their four models – the SugarCube, PepperCube, ShadowCube, and IceCube – are clad in aluminum or shou sugi ban-style wood, and feature interiors made of handcrafted, hand-sanded thermally modified wood. WellHouse saunas are built for Canadian winters – they are engineered to handle snow load, unlike DIY kits that often collapse under heavy snow loads like this past winter.
“We personalize each sauna to your needs and wishes. Want a custom colour? Not a problem. Want deeper benches for lounging, a larger veranda? We can do that.”
At WellHouse, white glove delivery comes standard. “We’ll bring your sauna to you, whether it’s accessible by land, lake or air… No location is out of reach.”
Once your sauna is delivered, connect it to your electrical panel and enjoy the same day – it’s that simple.
You’re not average…why would you want an average sauna?
